Good tools are half the job

Lamers Tooling has been known for its solid craftsmanship for over 60 years. In 1960, Lamers Sr. started a machine factory and from the 1970s onwards was mainly active as a toolmaker, with expertise in injection moulds for plastic injection moulding companies and high-pressure die casting moulds for aluminium foundries. He soon switched from conventional machining to CNC machining. Precision work was needed. The business grew, partly by meeting the higher quality requirements.

In 1987, son Jos Lamers started working in the business as a machinist. In order to gain experience, he worked in several places in the company and learned to work with the various machines. In the meantime, a new building was built at the current location of Lamers Tooling in Tegelen. The completion of the new building in 1991 was accompanied by the takeover of the directorship by Jos, who is still the director-owner of the company today.

The competition in the sector in which Lamers Tooling operates has increased due to globalization (low-wage countries). In order to maintain a good market position, we continue to invest in our employees to offer them every opportunity to develop. And of course we also continue to invest in new techniques and relationships. Under the leadership of Jos, we started with 3D processing using CAM software in 1996. In 2013, the production process was significantly expanded with 5-axis milling including robot loading, which ensures that both single pieces and series work can be produced 24/7 unmanned.

In order to spread the entrepreneurial risk, Lamers Tooling profiles itself as a generalist with various specialities. The injection moulds and the high-pressure die casting moulds are still the basis of our services, press moulds, stamps and precision mechanical parts. In an ever-changing market, we move as well as possible with the demand and adapt our services accordingly. Since 2015, we have been supplying press moulds for military helmets to international companies. Machine and equipment manufacturers are also increasingly finding us for the supply of precise precision mechanical parts. It is our challenge to find technical solutions for specific questions and problems of our customers. And that is paying off. With customers both inside and outside Europe.

We are increasingly active directly or indirectly for the aviation and defense industry. For Dutch companies but also

foreign companies, whether or not suppliers to the Dutch defense. We therefore have experience with

export licenses for military goods. We comply with AS9100D ISO9001 quality standard.

The third generation of Lamers is now also working within our company. Jarle Lamers started in 2019 by taking charge of engineering. He also manages production. Jos Lamers has no plans to stop as director-owner, so Jarle still has enough time to gain more knowledge and experience and to make a choice. We also continue to invest in new employees, so that this beautiful profession is not lost.
